While every single 2020 Democratic presidential candidate avidly supports a woman’s “right” to abortion, it seems some are considerably more comfortable with calling the procedure what it is: killing a child.

Old sins cast especially long shadows when you run for president, as former New York Mayor and latecomer to the 2020 Democratic primary race, Michael Bloomberg has discovered, and an incident in the 90’s in which he rather crassly referred to abortion is making headlines once more.

According to The New York Times, the former New York City Mayor was recently forced to address the heartless, decades-old statements made to a former female staffer upon learning that she was pregnant.

“Kill it,” Bloomberg allegedly told Sekiko Sakai Garrison, one of his sales executives at the company that bears his name, when she notified him of her pregnancy. Garrison at the time also claimed that Bloomberg angrily complained of the number of pregnant women in his employ, saying, “Great! Number 16!”

It never ceases to amaze me that anyone would deem themselves fit to lead and represent any group of people, let alone a major city or an entire country, when they look upon news of pregnant women so contemptuously and the murder of innocent children so casually. But, when a sizeable chunk of the population is crying out for the “right” to murder their innocent children, this is what we end up with, and Bloomberg went on to win three terms as the mayor of New York City after making these comments.

While Bloomberg vehemently denies ever making the statement, Garrison allegedly possesses a tape of an answering machine message from Bloomberg saying, “I didn’t say it, but if I said it I didn’t mean it.”

Not only have Bloomberg’s statements to Mrs. Garrison been brought to light once more, but he was also made to acknowledge—though not apologize for—his apparent lifelong pattern of harassing and degrading women and minorities before being considered a legitimate presidential candidate.

The Telegraph reports:

The billionaire businessman is also claimed to have pointed out a woman to Mrs Garrison, and said: “If you looked like that, I would do you in a second.”

The suit accused him of referring to Mexican clients as “jumping beans” and saying of a female worker who was having trouble finding a nanny that “all you need is some black who doesn’t even have to speak English to rescue it from a burning building”.

“Mike has come to see that some of what he has said is disrespectful and wrong,” said a spokesman, Stu Loeser, in a statement that the Times says “stops short of an apology.” “He believes his words have not always aligned with his values and the way he has led his life.”

Of course, in spite of how he has allegedly treated women, he has the unflinching support of Planned Parenthood. And why not? The billionaire has donated obscene amounts of money to them over the years.

The Times reports:

As New York’s mayor and in the years since — he left office in 2013 — Mr. Bloomberg has donated tens of millions of dollars to support reproductive rights and women’s health causes around the world, his aides said.
“To say he’s one of the biggest champions for women in this country and all over the world would be an understatement,” said Jill Lafer, a former national chairwoman of Planned Parenthood, who recalled Mr. Bloomberg making an unsolicited donation of $250,000 to the organization in 2012 after a major donor pulled funding.

It would appear that even the most vile, abusive man could find his way into the left’s good graces after a lifetime of demeaning women—as long as he can pay for it.
