(TMU) — Over the last two years I have been researching the 5th Generation of wireless technology, also known as 5G, and the potential dangers posed by the unprecedented roll out across the world. I have produced dozens of investigative reports and articles and interviewed a range of experts in the fields of health, security, and privacy. Earlier this year, I also released a full length documentary—The 5G Trojan Horse—exploring the growing concerns about 5G and radio frequency radiation in general. I consider myself fairly well versed on the topic.
The movement to raise awareness about these concerns has been steadily gaining steam over the last year, culminating in January’s first Global Day of Protest Against 5G. However, over the last month I have noticed a trend in the “5G Awareness” community (and the larger truth community as well) where someone sees a piece of information that fits their bias or preconceived notions and accepts the information as truth without doing any research. These individuals then proceed to spread the news to anyone else who will listen. And just like that blogs, articles, and videos filled with misstatements and half-truths quickly go viral.
When it comes to 5G, I have seen many theories about the technology, the purpose of the roll out, and specific health effects which lack concrete evidence. Most notably, the idea that 5G technology is largely responsible for causing symptoms of the novel coronavirus has swept through social media circles. These theories include the believe that there is no such thing as CoViD-19 and the symptoms are in fact being caused by radiation released from 5G small cells and towers. There is no evidence to back these claims.
There is also the theory that radio frequency radiation is weakening the immune system of individuals and thus allowing CoViD-19 to kill them. Some online commentators have speculated that the potential deployment of 5G infrastructure using 60 GHz frequencies could be affecting oxygen uptake in humans, leading to shortness of breath and deaths which are officially attributed to coronavirus. While there are legitimate studies detailing the impacts of EMFs on the immune system and damage to cells, as well as at least one interesting study on 60 GHz affecting oxygen uptake in the atmosphere, as of now we have no direct evidence to support these claims.
Perhaps the strongest statement made by a professional with experience on the effects of radio frequency radiation comes from Dr. Martin Pall, a Professor Emeritus of Biochemistry and Basic Medical Sciences at Washington State University. Pall is a published and widely cited scientist on the biological effects of electromagnetic fields and an expert in how wireless radiation impacts the electrical systems in our bodies. Dr. Pall recently released a new report titled Role of 5G in the Coronavirus Epidemic in Wuhan China which offers the theory that the suppression of the immune system by exposure to 5G towers could weaken the body and increase the detrimental effect of CoViD-19. Dr. Pall concludes:
“It is my opinion, therefore, that 5G radiation is greatly stimulating the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic and also the major cause of death, pneumonia and therefore, an important public health measure would be to shut down the 5G antennae.”
Dr. Pall also notes that more studies need to be conducted on 5G before the global roll out is complete to properly determine the biological effects of the technology.
Despite the lack of hard evidence for the coronavirus-5G connection, videos by dubious researchers claiming a direct link between 5G and CoViD-19 are going viral. There are also new reports that believers in this theory are resorting to lighting 5G towers on fire. In response to the theories and fires, the corporate mainstream news is now launching attacks on those who question 5G, attempting to paint anyone who challenges the status quo around the use of digital technology as some crackpot conspiracy theorist. Social media companies have also announced that they will remove content proposing a connection between 5G and CoViD-19. In the end, the spreading of unproven reports only hurts those of us who are doing our best to reach the masses with factual evidence concerning the dangers of 5G.
On Sunday, the organization Americans for Responsible Technology (AFRT) sent out an email alert asking their supporters to, “Please stop linking COVID19 to 5G!” AFRT is an association of organizations and individuals across America that raise awareness about the dangers of implementing new communications technologies in North America. The group is also behind the 5G Crisis movement. In the email the organization wrote:
“Over the past few days, the PR machines of the wireless industry have ramped up their news feeds, making sure that every news outlet in the world gets this message loud and clear: Opponents of 5G are crazy, even blaming 5G for COVID-19! This perception, being burned into the mindsets of decision makers in Washington, medical and science reporters and the general public, makes our job of pushing back against 5G infinitely more difficult.”
The organization states that there is no “credible, evidence-based science” showing that 5G is responsible for CoViD-19. The group does recognize that “there are thousands of studies showing that RF microwave radiation can have severe biological impacts, but there is no proof of a link to CoViD-19.”
The response on social media has been confrontational, with some social media users accusing the group of being bought out by Big Wireless. Unsurprisingly, those making these claims do not provide any evidence.
To those who are concerned about 5G and CoViD-19, I humbly offer a piece of advice for your efforts to reach neighbors, friends, family, and elected officials: do your research. Do the homework. Don’t just read the headlines of articles and share them. Don’t let other people (YouTubers, Facebook commenters, government officials, scientists) do the thinking for you.
In conclusion, we must make an effort to distinguish between speculating about things that might be true and facts that we can prove. This writer plans to interview Dr. Martin Pall again to get a clearer picture of his claims about CoViD-19 and 5G. I am also making an effort to interview author Arthur Firstenberg, whose book The Invisible Rainbow seems to be the source for claims that all pandemics are actually a biological response to upgrades in digital technology.
