An ultra large container ship, the Milano Bridge wiped out a gantry crane, and collided with other cranes and a smaller container ship, the Seaspan Ganges at the Port of Busan, the largest port in South Korea. The incident happened at around 05.50 UTC on 6 April 2020.

Milano Bridge has over 150 gross tonnage, and as with many container vessels, is registered in Panama. According to Splash 247, the ship is operated by Ocean Network Express (ONE) and owned by Doun Kisen, and “had recently been in drydock for collision repairs”.

The vessel appeared to be travelling near empty at the time of the accident.

Remarkably, only one person, a crane driver who jumped from a height of five metres, appears to have been hurt in the incident.
