If you value life, it should never, ever cease to crush your soul to learn of the sheer numbers of babies worldwide who are being murdered in their mothers’ wombs worldwide.
For yet another year, abortion was the leading cause of death across the globe in 2019, coming in at an absolutely astounding 42 million.
Just think about that. Millions upon millions of precious unborn lives willfully taken as all the other institutions that once protected and cherished life like the church, the family, and governing bodies are crumbling into lawlessness.
This data comes from the website Worldomoters, an organization that has been recognized as one of the best reference sites on the web by the American Library Association. They gather the total number of abortions globally from statistics published by the World Health Organization (WHO) and report:
According to WHO, every year in the world there are an estimated 40-50 million abortions. This corresponds to approximately 125,000 abortions per day.
In the USA, where nearly half of pregnancies are unintended and four in 10 of these are terminated by abortion, there are over 3,000 abortions per day. Twenty-two percent of all pregnancies in the USA (excluding miscarriages) end in abortion.
Worldometers also notes that these deaths are over twice the number of all worldwide deaths from common causes like cancer, smoking, alcohol, traffic accidents, malaria, and HIV/AIDs...combined.
Meanwhile, gun control proponents on the left, at the close of the year this week, were somberly pushing the grievous-sounding headline, 2019 saw most mass killings on record, US database reveals.
Now, the well-seasoned Fake Firearm News expert will be able to recognize the tell-tale signs of misleading representation of data easily in the first few paragraphs of the article; it’s about mass killings, not actually shootings (come on), overall homicide rates are nonetheless on the decline nationally, and the report seems to tactfully evade revealing how many of those deaths, specifically, were due to firearms (although we’re assured 33 of the mass killings involved firearms).
Nonetheless, this data is about the loss of human life in a cruel and violent way, the cruelest way for a human to die: at the hands of another.
In these record-setting mass killings, which no doubt caused untold suffering, grief, and trauma among those people and communities impacted, 211 precious lives were lost. And anyone who is shocked to take in those numbers has every reason to be.
This data, however, is not misleading only because it seeks to give the impression that mass shootings are on the rise, but because it fails to acknowledge the 600,000+ deaths at the hands of abortion that were just part of the crushing global numbers.
Our nation’s abortion clinics commit mass killings each and every day. Taxpayer-funded, legal, institutionalized mass murder.
Mass killings of all kinds are part of the same major, global problem of diminished respect for the value of life. It is impossible to ignore the connection between the systematic slaughter of our own young in nations that antagonizing the objective morality on which our laws are supposed to be based and the subsequent violent, cruel, and senseless acts that we’re constantly told are on the rise.
Mass murder is on the rise, and it starts in the womb. Mass-murder is a global problem, one that claimed 42 million victims worldwide. And until we stop this genocide, there can be no giving the impression that we live in civilized, free nations.
